FORTE is a 3-year project granted under the frame of bilateral and multilateral joint R&T collaboration between Greece and China. The project is funded by the General Secretariat for Research and Technology (GSRT), under the Operational Programme “Competitiveness, Entrepreneurship and Innovation” (EPAnEk) 2014-2020.
Aims of FORTE project are the phytoremediation of polluted mining and agricultural sites in Greece and China using fiber crops and the production of biomass useful for the production of biomaterials for industrial uses. The project will provide economic, environmental and social benefits to local communities and will stimulate the development and well-being of rural areas in both countries.

The kick off meeting of the Chinese part was held on 19th December 2019 at Shandong Agricultural University, in Tai’an city, China. All Chinese partners participated at the meeting. Several administrative and financial issues of the project were discussed, along with international cooperation issues. Future work plan and timetable were decided.
